As Veksora Baby & Kid, respect for humans and nature is our top priority. Our aim is to be a part of environmentally friendly and ethical textile community that has a positive impact on the industry and works for a better future. 

 

Sustainability has different meanings for everyone. For us, this has two main dimensions: ethical sustainability and environmental sustainability. These two main issues shape our decision-making as the Veksora Baby & Kid brand.​

ETHICAL SUSTAINABILITY​ ​

​

For us, ethical sustainability means respect for people. The value of people and labor cannot be measured. However, unfortunately, the biggest problem in the clothing industry is people who are exploited by working under difficult conditions for insufficient wages.

 

In this sense, for us ethical sustainability is shaped by three fundamental concepts: ​

Respect for Labor and Labor Rights

​

For us, the primary condition for a product to be worn with peace of mind is respect for labor. Hence, our goal is to love the products we produce, as much as how they are produced. Putting people before profit is a core principle for us, ensuring our products are sourced in an ethically sustainable way from start to finish.  ​

 

For this reason, we have no tolerance for the following issues both within our company and within the business partners we work with:  ​

 

• Practices that will prejudice the legal rights of employees (such as salary policies below the minimum wage, inappropriate working hours, employment without insurance)

• Failure to take necessary workplace safety measures

• Child labor​​

Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

Apart from these, in our model development process, we collaborate with talented women entrepreneurs who participate in the economy by working from home and with artisan tailors who run their own small businesses. Collaborating with small and medium-sized businesses operating in the clothing industry is another important dimension of our ethical sustainability values.​

 

Preventing Excessive Consumption within the Framework of Slow Fashion​​

Finally, as part of our ethical sustainability mission, we aim to take part in the slow fashion movement by putting quality ahead of quantity. Contrary to fast trends that encourage excessive consumption, which creates social, economic and environmental risks, we work for a better future with the awareness of "less is more" by offering

long-lasting, high-quality and timeless pieces.

ENVIROMENTAL SUSTAINABLITY

We are very sensitive about environmental sustainability in the operation of our brand, which we established with the principle of "love and respect for nature". We believe that the decision to produce something is not a simple one and that it comes with great responsibility. We do not want to be part of the "textile waste" that increasingly pollutes our planet and puts its inhabitants at risk. Therefore, our choices reflect our sensitivity towards the environment, from material procurement to manufacturing, packaging and shipping. We take our environmental sustainability goals into account at every step of our opreations. In this regard, we prioritize the use of recyclable and biodegradable natural fabrics. ​

Our favorite among natural fabrics is organic cotton, which is grown using less water than conventional cotton, without the use of harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, has less impact on the environment and produces less carbon emissions. In addition to organic cotton, local and certified Aegean cotton, which has superior properties compared to some other cotton types, is also among the types of cotton we prefer to use in our products. Turkey is an international hub for high quality cotton production and we can source our cotton locally which is a great advantage for us  in terms of our sustainability goals.

For us, the criteria of biodegradability and prevention of microplastic waste are of great importance under the subject of environmental sustainability. We limit the use of synthetic fabrics in our products so that they can be recycled or degraded in nature in a short time when the time comes. The fabrics used in more than 90% of the product range in our collections do not contain synthetic components such as elastane. Our goal is to gradually increase this rate.

We prefer to use organic cotton fabric in the labels we use on our products and biodegradable materials in our cargo bags. 

 

​All of our products are produced locally in Turkey in line with our lower carbon footprint targets. ​ ​
